TIME – VOCABULARY

Century (n): thế kỷ – By the close of this century another 2 billion peple will have been born.

Decade (n): thập kỷ – The past decade has seen a huge rise in the number of broadband users.

Era (n): kỷ nguyên, thời đại – Stones began to arrive in this era.

Period (n): khoảng thời gian, giai đoạn – Stonehenge was built over a long period.

Chronological (adj): theo thứ tự thời gian – You shoul organize the dates into chronological order from the oldest to the most recent.

Consecutive (adj): liên tiếp nhau – After six consecutive defeats, the team was almost ready to give up.

Prehistory (adj): tiền sử – However, the first construction at this site began in prehistoric times.

Punctual (adj): đúng giờ – I am very punctual

Erode (v): xói mòn – Many visitors to Stonehenge fail to notice the henge since the ditch and bank have been greatly eroded over the passing millennia.

Infer (v): suy ra – Readers are left to infer the killer’s motives.

Predate (v):  xảy ra trước cái gì đó trong quá khứ – Stones began to arrive in this era and the circular shape and pattern of these enormous stone, which predate all other known structures, is still standing today.

Span (v): kéo dài – If we consider only the ancient stones themselves, the work spanned seventy generations – some 1,600 years.

Speaking Part: Answer those questions:

What are the qualities of  a good time-magement person? How to be a good time-management person?

Describe a punctual person you know?

You should say:

• Where you know him/her
• What he/she does to keep track of time
• And why you think punctuality is important?
