STUDENT LIFE – VOCABULARY

Assignment (n): bài tập – Perhaps you’re not preparing a homework assignment or project, but are trying to revise for an exam.

Curriculum (n): chương trình học – If so, you need to know exactly what is on your curriculum

Funding (n): tài trợ – You needn’t despair or abandon your ideas altogether, instead make enquires into funding from external agencies such as your local government.

Library (n): thư viện – Do you have any books to take back to the library?

Academic (adj): học thuật – Even the most studious among you will probably have difficult studying at some stage in your academic career.

Eligible (adj): đủ tư cách, thích hợp – All secondary and post-secondary school students in full-time education are eligible to apply for the program.

Studious (adj): chăm chỉ – Even the most studious among you will probably have difficult studying at some stage in your academic career.

Single-sex (adj): trường một giới – It was a single-sex school, so there were no boys.

Conduct (v): thực hiện – The researchers conducted many experiments to find the most effective materials.

Consider (v): xem xét – I’d like some time to consider.

Overcome (v): vượt qua – if or when this happens, the only way to overcome this problem is to go back to basics.

Review (v): xem lại – You should review your notes and make sủe that you have a clear understanding of what your lecturers have taught you.

Speaking Part: Answer those questions:

1. What will you do after finishing your studies?
2. What are student life activiies?
3. How can a student live a good life?
4. What advantages do universities bring to society?

Describe an experience or meeting you had at university.

You should say:

• What it was
• When you had this experience or meeting
• Where you had this experience
• Explain why this experience/ meeting had an impact on you.
