BUILDING – VOCABULARY

Balcony (n): ban công – My favourite spot is the balcony – my building towers over everything else, so I can see for miles.

Ceiling (n): trần nhà – What I like best about itt is the ceilings.

Concrete (n): bê tông – So there’s no concrete or steel to be found.

Skyscraper (n): toà nhà chọc trời – The writer belives that skyscrapers can help you find your way aroung a city.

Airy (adj): thoáng – I spend a lot of time in the livingroom because it’s so light and airy.

Curved (adj): cong – It is a curved path.

High-rise (adj): nhà cao tầng, nhà chọc trời – My flat is in a new high-rise building in the city center.

Spacious (adj): rộng rãi – I love the downstairs room as they are very spacious.

Automade (v): tự động hoá – The entire manufacturing process has been automated.

Construct (v): xây – They constructed a working model of the bridge, which occupied an entire car park.

Decorate (v): trang trí – The cake was decorated to look like a car

Demolish (v): phá huỷ, đánh đổ – The factory is due to be demolished next year.
